A layered Community Engagement strategy will be used to gather information from a wide cross-section of stakeholders. Upcoming activities are outlined below.

Community input is a key part of the Market East Revival. This survey gives residents, workers, and visitors the opportunity to share their ideas, concerns, and hopes for the future of the corridor.

MY MARKET EAST

Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, 12-6 p.m., until August 28th

Join the Revival! The Market East Revival is a citywide effort to bring new life to one of Philadelphia’s most important streets.

MY Market East is a City-operated storefront where anyone can drop in to find out about the work of the Market East Revival, see new and archival displays, models, and photos, talk one-on-one with a city planner, and share their vision for the future of Market East. It is co-located with the Meantime on Market local pop-up shops on the 900 block of Market Street.

Formed six topical subcommittees to guide strategic areas of the revival:

  1. Activation and Vacancy

  2. Arts, Entertainment, and Culture

  3. Economic Development and Incentives

  4. Future Land Use

  5. Public Safety

  6. Streetscape and Urban Realm

Met with key stakeholders in one-on-one meetings. These meetings are continuing throughout the engagement as we explore feasibility and implementation.

Established four "North Star" core values to guide the work of the advisory group.

  3. Market East will be a regional destination with large anchors and a walkable, resident-friendly environment.

  4. Market East will have a clear and cohesive identity.

Initiated market study and refined preliminary development scenarios based on public feedback

​Secured a nearly $1M grant from DCED for the revival of the Reading Terminal Headhouse facade
